Matthew 11:28–30 (NIV)·New International Version (NIV)
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Rest for the Weary
Verse introduction
Jesus said these words to people who were tired in every way: physically tired, emotionally tired, and spiritually tired from religious systems that demanded more than they could give. His invitation is the same to you today. Come. Bring the weight. Find real rest.
Reflection
Jesus did not call the impressive. He called the tired. He still does.
His yoke is not heavier than what you were already carrying. It is lighter, because He is the one holding the other side.
You can stop dragging the weight alone. Come, hand it to Him, and let your soul breathe again.
A word to carry
“Jesus is gentle with tired people.”
A short prayer
“Jesus, I am tired. I bring You the things I have been carrying alone. Teach me how to walk with You instead of for You. Give my soul real rest today.”
