Lamentations 3:22–23 (ESV)

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Mercies New Every Morning

Reflection

Lamentations was written from the rubble of a fallen city. Jerusalem had been broken, God’s people carried into exile, and the prophet sat in the ashes of everything that once felt secure. And yet, in the middle of that grief, he remembers one thing: God’s mercy did not run out yesterday, and it will not run out today.

Mercy is not rationed. It is not earned. It does not arrive late because you stumbled. Every sunrise is God’s way of saying that He is still writing, still forgiving, still here.

You do not have to drag yesterday into this morning. The mercy that meets you now was made fresh, on purpose, for you, for today.

A word to carry

His mercy is never behind schedule. It is already waiting where you are about to stand.

A short prayer

Father, thank You for mercy I did not earn and grace I cannot repay. Help me receive this morning without the weight of yesterday. Let Your faithfulness be the ground I stand on today.

Closing encouragement

Receive the mercy that already waits for you. He has not run out of grace.
