How God grows a promise
Seed
zera (זֶרַע) / sperma (σπέρμα)
In Scripture, 'seed' means both an offspring — the promised line through which God works — and the small, hidden beginnings from which God grows His kingdom.

Biblical meaning
'Seed' is one of Scripture's most patient words. It carries two joined ideas. First, offspring: the promised line God preserves through the woman, through Abraham, through David, all the way to Christ — 'the seed is Christ' (Gal 3:16). Second, hidden growth: a kingdom that starts small, buried, quiet, and rises into something no farmer could have engineered. Jesus tells parable after parable about seed: sown by the road, in the rocks, in good soil, growing while the sower sleeps. Nothing God plants is ever wasted — even the seeds that die (John 12:24).

The kingdom grows like a mustard seed and yeast — the whole point is that God multiplies what looks tiny (Matt 13).
Living the text
Do not despise small beginnings (Zech 4:10). The prayer you keep praying, the child you keep raising, the obedience nobody notices — these are seeds. Sow them faithfully. Water them with Scripture. Then leave the harvest to the God who makes seeds grow while the sower sleeps.
Prayer
Father, You are patient with seeds. Teach me to sow what You have given me, and to trust the slow, hidden growth. Bring in Your harvest — in Your time, not mine. Amen.
